Saturday was a sad day before that priest pissed me off.
Sad because I didn’t sleep that night until after my dad left and came home from the store with a bag of sugar, a box of donuts, and a bouquet of roses I knew were for the grave of a military man twenty miles from here. Sad because my dad hasn’t had a dad for the past six years and for the past year a mother.
And sad because...
I told my mom about how my lips catch on my teeth and she started talking about seeing an orthodontist or something. I was just going to ask her why so many people want big lips because it’s not fun for me at all.
